Message from Superintendent Saunders

Dear Students, Parents and Guardians

Welcome back to the 2020-2021 school year. We are excited to greet our face to face, virtual and hybrid learners. While nothing is normal about the start of this school year, a return to learning will provide some normalcy.

We ask that you remain patient as we work to acclimate students and staff to education in the pandemic era. Our staff will be focused on establishing new procedures and protocols and prepping students to be online learners in the first week of school. The roll out of academics will be slow at first. Our academic pace will increase beginning in week two.

Please remember to health screen your face to face learner before coming to school each day. We’ll be giving temperature checks during first hour classes, but if we detect COVID like symptoms we’ll be sending students home and following health department guidelines. This means students will be unable to return for fourteen days or until obtaining a doctor's note approving their return. These guidelines are being followed throughout the state and are for the safety of all students and staff.

I cannot give enough praise to our administrators, teachers, secretaries, custodians, aides and other support personnel for the behind the scenes effort to make our three learning options possible. Our plans remain flexible and fluid and are sure to change as we progress through the year. Please don’t hesitate to contact any of us with questions or concerns you may have.

Let’s all make the 2020-2021 school year memorable regardless of the circumstances!

William B. Saunders
